LATICIA EDNA TURNER, affectionately known as “Tish or Tisha”, age 72, was called to her eternal resting place on Monday, January 11, 2021. She entered this world on Friday, July 16, 1948, in Lyerly, Georgia. She was the daughter of Sidney and Louvenia Adams. In 1958, the Wiggins family moved to Columbus, Ohio. Laticia was a former student at Felton Elementary School, Champion Junior High School, and attended evening night school. Her religious affiliations included Second Shiloh Baptist Church, Jordan Bible Church, and Rhema Christian Center. Throughout her life, Laticia was employed with Mount Carmel Hospital, Park and Recreations, and the City of Columbus, Water Division, where she retired in 1999. Outside of work, she volunteered as an usher for Capa and the Veterans Memorial. Laticia enjoyed fishing, shopping trips, and travel. She often reflected on her vacations to Hawaii in May 2009, and Savannah, Georgia, March 2014. Laticia was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Joe Turner Jr. on October 4, 1975. Laticia was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate, Joe Turner Jr; parents, Sidney Wiggins and Louvenia Richardson; sister, Mildred Jordan; brothers-in-law, David Turner, Bobby Turner, and AliAbdul Jami; sisters-in-law, Betty (Clyde) Butler, Mary (Nebraska) White, and Josephine Turner; uncle, James Hightower; nephews, Paul Adams and Larry Turner; niece, Vista Turpin; and guardian angel, Pebbles. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Felicia Abercrombie and Linise Turner; brother, Charles Richardson; sisters, Teresa Richardson and Dora Aharanwa Richardson; sons-in-law, Aaron Abercrombie and Mark Abercrombie; daughters-in-law, Cheryl Abercrombie and Kerin Small; sisters-in-law, Deserette Turner and Hana Bahija; aunt, Jeannine Hightower; nieces, Charlesetta Pennington-Turner, Anna Turner (our lifeline), Davella Keyes, Nicole Holiday, Debbie White, CéTrease (Jarvis) Jackson, Scheria Turner, Denise White, Lakeitha Phillips, Michelle Holder, Angela Adams, Mary Jordan, Chrystalyne Adams, Lakeitha Phillips, and Donise Richardson; nephews, Lamar Ruffin, Charles Crawford Jr., Michael Turner, Willie (Joni) Crawford, Anthony (Brittany) White, Dural Keyes, Carl Keyes, Phillip Charles Richardson, Jeffry Adams, Tony Richardson, Kenneth Richardson, Phillip Charles Richardson, and James Richardson; first cousin, Doris Cheney; first from Georgia and bonus niece, Bridgette Wellington of Columbus, Ohio; closest friends, Dorothy Magazine and Alice Hollingsworth; mother’s guardian angel, Barack aka Rocky; a host of other family members, friends, and neighbors.
