Kelvin Ponder Sr.

KELVIN BERNARD PONDER, SR. was born Wednesday, November 19, 1969, in Columbus, Ohio. He was the son of Rev. Kell Ponder Sr. and Gladys Garland. Kelvin was a proud graduate of Whetstone High School, Class of 1988, as well as a graduate of Eastland Career Center, certified in carpentry. Kelvin was a member of New Jerusalem COGIC. He was a valued employee of Costco, working as a forklift operator for many years.

Kelvin enjoyed music, writing songs, traveling, and riding bikes, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Kelvin was a huge OSU Football and Dallas Cowboy fan. Kelvin had one of the biggest hearts a person could have.

Our beloved Kelvin B. Ponder, Sr., age fifty-three, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Kell Ponder, Sr.; maternal and fraternal grandparents; sister, Paulette Amble; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kelvin leaves to cherish his memory his son, Kelvin B. Ponder Jr; daughter, Deborah L. Ponder; mother, Gladys Garland; stepfather, Walter Garland; four sisters, Durene Jester, Regina Ponder, Maria (Harry) Zellars, and Angel Ambels; a brother, Kell Ponder III; special friend, Tamara Conner and her sons, Desjuan Parnell, Demarius Parnell, Diavon Parnell, and Delatham Rhodes; a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other family members, and dear friends.
