Jeanie L. Lovett was born June 8, 1937 in Clayton County, Georgia to Georgia (Taylor) Berry and Joseph B. Taylor, Sr. She went to be with the Lord Sunday December 15, 2013. Jeanie grew up in Atlanta, Georgia in a Christian environment and attended church regularly. After high school she attended Clark College, but later got a job at Emery University Hospital. She moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1956, and lived with her cousins, Emmit and Mary Owens and their daughters Gwen and Patricia. She joined the Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor M.J. Mitchell. Where she served faithfully on the Usher Board and Choir. She was the choir president for two years and was a part of The Women's Ministry. Jeanie retired from Columbus State Hospital in 1974 and retired a second time from LifeCare Alliance in 1997. In 1958, her son, Gerald was born. In 1960, the Lord sent her a loving husband, Walter Lovett, Jr. and in 1961, Vincent was added to this union. Jeanie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her mother, Georgia (Taylor) Berry and father, Joseph B. Taylor, Jr.; grandparents, Duckie Mills, Brutus Smith and William and Rena Taylor; her grandson, Walter V. Lovett, Jr.; and her mother-in-law, Ella Johnson. She is survived by sons, Gerald and Vincent; brothers, Joseph (Daisy) Taylor and Kevin (Angie) Taylor; sister, Jackie Taylor; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; special cousins, Tommie L. Garland, Christine Hill, Gwen Mendenhall, Patricia Tucker and Yvonne and Brenda Coggins as well as many, many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
