James G. 'Scooby' Sherrod

August 24, 1959 — September 2, 2013

James “Scooby” Sherrod was born on August 24, 1959 to Mozella and Louis Sherrod. He grew up as a young boy on the south side of Columbus. He could usually be found with a basketball in his hand. He was a graduate of South High School. Jimmy was a bus driver for Metro Transportation, Inc., where he provided transportation to many people all over the city. Those that he worked with knew they could count on him to assure they arrived to and from their destinations safely. Not only was he a driver, but he became a friend. Jimmy was always a defender of those that could not defend themselves. He departed this life on Monday, September 2, 2013 at Grant Hospital. He is preceded in death by his father, Louis Sherrod and his stepfather, Urban Ardister. He is survived by his mother, Mozella Ardister, children, James, Monica and Megan, sisters Delores (Michael), Velma (Cuzz), Gina (Terry), Trina, Alfonda, brothers, Louis and Michael, 7 grandchildren, a host of nieces nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many special friends.
