Donald P. Tate was born November 12, 1928 in Columbus Ohio to Eugene and Thomasina “Tommy” Tate. He graduated from South High School. He later graduated from Ohio State University both a Masters and a PhD degree. Donald was a member o Unity Church of Christianity. Throughout his career in education, he was a counselor at South High School, a principle at Pilgrim Elementary and Deshler Elementary, and a teacher at Southwood. In the community he served as the president of Model Cities. Donald enjoyed music. He was the band leader of the Don Tate organ Combo. He was an avid HAM Radio operator. On September 30, 2019, Donald transitioned to Heaven. He is preceded in death by his parents, spouse Thelma L. Early Tate, sons Dana and Steven Tate, and brothers Robert and William Henry Tate. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Don E. (Sharon) Tate and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
