Coy Finley Franklin was born March 30, 1965 to Clyde and Alice Franklin, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was the oldest of four children. Franklin, II, paternal grandparents Coy and Bernice Franklin, maternal grandparents Eli Finley (“Big Papa”) and Rozelle G. Pickett (“Big Mama”), a favorite aunt Nannie G. Childs, and his nephew Michael Franklin. Coy is survived by his mother Dr. Alice Franklin Elder; sister Alison G. “Ali” Franklin; two brothers, Sean C. Franklin and Clyde W. Franklin, III; three dear aunts, Eudora P. Nelson of California, Malissa P. Robinson of Texas, and Lynetra McGee of Arkansas; and uncle Earnest C. Pickett of Illinois. Coy was blessed by and always enjoyed interacting with his many special cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends who also survive him.
