Caleb Alexander Hardy, Sr. was born August 9, 1944, to Emma Lee Lewis Hardy and George Hardy in Charleston, West Virginia. He spent his youth in Smithers, West Virginia, and his teen and adult years in Columbus, Ohio. He was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he sang in the Men’s Chorus, served on the Usher Ministry, and was a member of Brother Power. Caleb was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War before receiving his honorable discharge in 1967. On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at the age of 73, Caleb passed away while in the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. In addition to his parents, Caleb was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Lee, Larry Dean, George, and John; sisters Kate Craig and Katherine Hardy; beloved aunts, Thelma and Pearl Lewis; and beloved uncle Caleb Lewis. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 49 years, Mary J. Hardy; son Caleb Jr. (Trish); daughter Yolanda; grandchildren, Caleb III and Taylor Leigh Hardy; his twin brother Charles (Diane); brother Raymond (Randy); sisters, Janice Tanner, Dolores Faye Stigger, and Joyce Edmonson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends, Alfreeman (Belinda) Custer, Deacon Stan (Clara) Cartwright, and Deacon Howard (LaVerne) Morris.
